Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports reports that unless he gets a long-term extension from the Jets, Jamal Adams wanted to be traded.
Robinson says that the Jets, however, prefer to keep Adams and sign him to an extension in 2021.
If teams are interested in trading for Adams, they can call the Jets, but New York has no plans to shop him in trade talks as of now. Robinson adds that Adams’ agent does not have the green light to line up a deal.
Regarding contract talks, Robinson explains that other impact defenders like Aaron Donald and Khalil Mack played four seasons before signing huge extensions. The Jets don’t want to sign Adams to a record deal after three years, but their stance could change next year.
