James Harrison of the Pittsburgh Steelers told Dale Lolley of DKPPittsburghSports that he would’ve signed elsewhere had he known that he would be playing as little as he is right now. Harrison, who is also the franchise’s all-time leader in sacks has become frustrated with his lack of playing time and role on the team.
In fact, Harrison hasn’t played since the Steelers Week 7 victory over the Chiefs, during which he recorded a crucial sack on Alex Smith.
The veteran linebacker is now 39 and has only played in 29 snaps. The reason being, the Steelers are trying to go younger and the young talent has played well, racking up 40 sacks on the season. That total is good for second best in the league.
Harrison still believes that he can play at a high level and is only a year removed from leading the team in sacks. He would still like a chance to showcase his ability and maybe will get a chance during the playoffs.
