Rob Gronkowski is out to prove that he’s one of the best tight ends of all time. Fortunately for him, the numbers clearly reflect the massive impact he’s had already as a Patriot.
Gronk is about to join a group of extremely elite offensive weapons as the NFL’s research team reports that only four players have caught 70 touchdown passes in the first 100 games of his career. Gronk is on the verge of joining the likes of Randy Moss, Jerry Rice, Don Hutson, and Lance Alworth.
The New England tight end hit the 69 touchdown mark this last Sunday with a TD catch against the Saints, and he’ll look to hit 70 as the Houston Texans come into town.
Even better news for Gronk is that he’s not up against a particularly tight deadline. The game against Houston will be the 91st of his career, giving him plenty of time, if necessary, to hit the impressive mark.
Of course, he’d rather hit it sooner than later.
