Jarrius Reports to New Orleans Saints Training Camp

Every NFL team reported to training camp this week, and the New Orleans Saints did so with 1 extra player on their roster.

Head Coach Sean Payton gathered all the players in the room after practice today. During the meeting, Jarrius Robertson, a biliary atresia patient and Saints superfan, walked into the room. He had some thoughts about the team of 90.

“I’m not number 91 – I’m number 1,” he exclaimed.

Last October, Robertson signed a 1-week contract to be the Saints’ official “hype man.” He has since appeared at the NBA All Star game, the ESPYs, and other events. In May, he received a long-awaited liver transplant – his second since his initial diagnosis.
