NaVorro Bowman has been the middle linebacker that Raiders fans have wanted to see for years now. He has come in and in a short amount of time has racked up 52 tackles and has come up with the Raiders’ only interception of the season.
He does have his flaws and there are concerns about his durability at his age but ever since he came in Week 7, his impact both on and off the field has been felt by the team. The bad news is that now that the middle linebacker problem has seemingly been solved, next season it may open back up.
The Athletic’s Vic TaFur doesn’t think that Bowman will be a Raider past the one-year deal his signed with the team. Meaning next year he will likely be gone.

While this may disappoint some Bowman may want to cash in on one more payday before he retires. If he continues to have the season he’s been having with the Raiders there will be plenty of suitors lining up for his services. The Raiders would certainly be one of those teams if they didn’t have Khalil Mack to take care of.
After signing Mack the team may not have enough cap room to address the middle linebacker position with the amount of money that Bowman may be looking for. Amari Cooper will also need to be taken care of in the future and the team can’t afford to be tied up when it comes to the contracts of those two young centerpieces.
