Chiefs suspend Marcus Peters

The Raiders go into this Sunday’s game in win-now mode. The team is in complete control of their playoff destiny and needs to win in Arrowhead to maintain that control. Things may have gotten a little bit easier for Derek Carr and the offense, in particular, the passing game. Kansas City has suspended one of their top players in the secondary which should embolden Carr and Todd Downing’s play calling.

The Chiefs announced that they were suspending Marcus Peters for Sunday’s game for his actions last week during the Jets game. Ian Rapoport said that the team was suspending Peters partially because he left the field of play while the game was on.

Not only did he leave the field but he also picked up a penalty flag and threw it into the stands. He then proceeded to walk off of the field after he was called for an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. He assumed that he was going to be ejected for throwing the flag and came back to the field when informed that he was still able to play.

He came back without his socks and finished the game on the sideline.

The Raiders got Michael Crabtree back this week who was serving his own one-game suspension for fighting Broncos cornerback Aqib Talib. Amari Cooper also cleared concussion protocol but is still nursing an injured ankle. The team has yet to say whether he will play this weekend or not.
