What happens’s when two Chicago residents meet a Green Bay Packers quarterback?
This sounds like a corny joke with a sassy punchline, but it’s actually a heart-warming story.
Julia Nicoll and her son Peter saw Aaron Rodgers on the way to the Packers-Bears games earlier this month on a Sunday. Nicoll and her son didn’t think they would have a lengthy conversation with the best quarterback in the NFL, but Rodgers had other plans.
A group identified Rodgers, and Julia and Peter went across the street to snap a quick picture of him, so Julia could send the picture to Julia’s husband. Rodgers agreed to take a picture with Peter and caught up with them further done the road thereafter.
“He just started talking to us again like we were all neighbors and friends. We walked with him again for the next 15 minutes, 20 minutes to Michigan Avenue,” Julia said. “The thing for me that really stood out as so awesome was he asked us questions. I would say he asked us more questions than I asked him, because I didn’t want to be nosy and because I didn’t want to invade his privacy.”
