Dak Prescott will bounce back against the Redskins! Click here to find out why!
Chidobe Awuzie is ready to make a difference for the Dallas Cowboys’ defense.
Awuzie has been fighting a hamstring injury for most of the season since August, but he will play his first meaningful game since Week 5 against the Green Bay Packers (he was injured pretty early in that game too).
The second round draft pick is determined to prove to the Cowboys that he was worth the pick.
“When a dog gets hit by a car he doesn’t want to get off the porch anymore. I want to get off the porch,” Awuzie said. “I don’t want to get in that mentality where I’m stuck on the porch.”
The past two games, Awuzie has played a bit, but he has only gotten five defensive snaps because the coaches are still concerned about his hamstring. He does have a lot of long-term potential, and the coaches don’t want to throw that away.
But now, the Cowboys need him. Anthony Brown has gone through a terrible sophomore slump, especially the past three games. The coaching staff is desperate for something to work. Starting Awuzie just might be it.
