Many Kansas City Chiefs players spent their well-deserved time off to spend time with friends and family, refocusing away from football.
Rookie running back Kareem Hunt, however, refocused by giving back to several young football players. During the bye week, Hunt treated the youngsters to a shopping spree.
Ten kids were selected to accompany Hunt to Academy Sports in Overland Park. Hunt gave $100 to each of the kids to buy football equipment. Everyone involved (including Hunt) also ended up grabbing a Nerf gun to complete the shopping load.

Hunt explained that he was inspired by those that helped him while he was still a young boy with big dreams.
“Pee Wee coaches helping me out telling the right things and leading me in the right direction and my older brother, he just helped me out too a bunch,” Hunt said. “Just giving me advice when he was playing football and stuff like that.”
The young footballers had a phenomenal time. Hunt also enjoyed himself, saying it was a great way to spend his time in the bye week.
“I just like having fun with the kids and being able to teach them some of the things I know,” Hunt said.
