The Broncos can’t catch a break this season. The offense has fallen apart, they haven’t gotten consistent play from their offensive line or quarterbacks, and Paxton Lynch didn’t even make it through his first start this season because of an injury that will now keep him out 2-4 weeks.
To add to their problems before this Sunday’s game, the expected starting quarterback is battling the flu. There are a number of players who have been stricken with the sickness. Vance Joseph offered a few thoughts on the matter.
Hopefully guys can take care of themselves and we can get a handle on that. It’s about four or five guys that are sick right now, especially our D-line.
The Broncos also are dealing with few injuries which took six linemen out of Wednesday’s practice. If Trevor Siemian isn’t able to go then the Broncos will have to turn to Brock Osweiler. The Broncos are currently on a seven-game losing streak and could use a win to boost morale and build on for next season. Siemian did come in for Lynch last week and threw two TD passes after the Broncos were held scoreless for the majority of the game.
This week’s game against Miami serves as a good starting point to get some late season wins and create some optimism around the team as they go into the offseason with plenty of questions and concerns.
