TE Jake Butt posts message after being moved to IR

The Broncos drafted Jake Butt with the hopes that he’d be a dynamic piece of their offense. Butt was a talented pass catching TE in college with Michigan and the Broncos needed someone with his skill set.

The Broncos were able to get Butt because he tore his ACL in his team’s bowl game. That injury caused him to fall down draft boards until Denver decided to pull the trigger and pick him up.

The hope was that Butt could recover quickly enough for him to get on the field for the second half of the season. The rookie did make it onto the practice field but was slowed down by his knee. The Broncos finally made the decision to place him on IR and not force anything. When the news broke Butt released this statement:

Butt should be ready to go full speed next season and at 22, he still has a lot of football ahead of him.
