The Broncos got more bad news in a season full forgettable moments. Derek Wolfe’s season is now over. Yesterday the team put the veteran defensive end on injured reserve who suffered a severe neck sprain.
The sprain led to numbness in his face, arms, and legs. Wolfe met with Dr. Robert Watkins who diagnosed him with a form of spinal stenosis. The good news is that Watkins told Wolfe he would need no surgery. The bad news was that he couldn’t play football for the rest of the season.
In Wolfe’s time on the field, he racked up 31 tackles and two sacks. He has two more years on his current deal that will take him through 2019.
Updates will be provided as they become available.
