On his unofficial visit to Alabama for the Tennessee game a month ago, Bill Norton, a 2019 four-star defensive end recruit, got an offer from the Crimson Tide.
For Norton, his first visit to Bryant-Denny stadium more than lived up to expectations.
“I enjoyed it a lot. It was awesome,” Norton said. “I talked to Coach (Karl) Dunbar for a while, I sat down one-on-one with Coach (Nick) Saban, that was awesome. I got to go in the locker room for a little bit. It was fun.”
“[Saban] was talking about how he liked my size and how well I could move. We talked about life. He was asking me about what my parents do. We talked about what position I’d like to play. It was a chill conversation.”
The 6-foot-6, 270-pound high school junior likes playing on the defensive line. That’s most likely what he would play at Alabama too. Norton has planned to attend a camp in Tuscaloosa next summer.
“Obviously it’s a very prestigious program,” Norton said of what stands out about the Capstone. “Alabama, that’s what you strive to get to. The academic standpoint is phenomenal. Coach Saban is a great coach. Anybody that goes through the program becomes a better player and a better person.”
