Although Alabama fell out of the top four teams in the latest College Football Playoff rankings after Saturday’s loss to Auburn, Vegas sports books still show great faith in the Tide.

Alabama is still the betting favorite to win the national title in several books currently taking bets despite not even being among the four playoff teams.

The Westgate SuperBook, the Las Vegas sports betting powerhouse, has Alabama a +400 co-favorite along with Clemson and Oklahoma. Auburn and Georgia aren’t far behind, however at +450 and +500 respectively.

At +400, bettors would win $400 on a $100 wager on the Crimson Tide.

VegasInsider also puts Alabama as a 3/1 co-favorite along with Clemson. However, Oklahoma is the third choice followed by Auburn, Georgia and Ohio State.

Alabama needs some pretty serious help even getting into the four-team playoffs after the Iron Bowl loss. It would likely need Oklahoma and or Wisconsin to lose in their respective conference championship games.

Another fact not boding in the favor of the Crimson tide is that selection committee chair Kirby Hocutt announced on Tuesday night that there’s very little separation between the teams ranked 5-8 (Alabama, Georgia, Miami, Ohio State).

For now, fans in Tuscaloosa will just have to wait. Maybe consider making a bet or two to pass the time.
