On Wednesday night, five-star defensive end Brenton Cox decommitted from Ohio State.
The decision comes after an official visit to Tuscaloosa last weekend, the recruit’s second.
According to reports, the visit was impeccable. Alabama completely nailed it.
Also, Cox’s commitment, it appears, had been waning for some time, especially with Tide defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt visiting Cox in his home state of Georgia last week.
Ohio State is still working to get Cox on a campus visit as the recruit hasn’t made it to Columbus yet this season. Cox is expected to visit Georgia as well.
The player is an early enrollee, so the college to which he does commit will see him sooner than normal. Alabama seems to be gaining a lot of momentum in the player’s mind. Likely, it will end up being a battle between Alabama and Georgia.
The 6-foot-4, 247-pound player is the No. 2 strong-side defensive end in the country and the No. 22 overall player.
