- Alex Rodríguez, 3B — 2004-2016
A-Rod became the youngest player to hit 500 home runs, and later the youngest to hit 600. This insane record actually topped Babe Ruth’s pace by a year, which is quite a legacy to chase. In 2009, Rodríguez led the team to win the World Series. He’s also a 14-time All-Star and holds three American League MVP awards. To top it all off, Rodríguez is the career record holder for grand slams with 25. A-Rod is a household name from his time with the Yankees and is still fully involved as an advisor to the current Yankees’ head coach.
What knocks him down to 10 includes his past using illegal performance-enhancing drugs which knocked him out for the entire 2014 season. He almost received another record for his suspension times, originally sentenced to sitting out 211 games before it became reduced to 162. If the original upheld, he would have received the longest non-lifetime suspension in all MLB history. Yikes.
