Over Lance Lynn’s past three seasons he has been an incredibly dependable starting pitcher for the St. Louis Cardinals. Even after getting Tommy John surgery back in 2016, Lynn has not failed to miss a step and he has been excelling ever since. Over his last three seasons, Lynn has racked up an ERA of 2.94 and an allowance of a solid eight hits per nine innings with a WHIP of 1.270.
Lynn’s contract is up at the end of this season, which is coming to a close very soon. Lynn might be opting to cash out of the equation while he still can. If he does, the Cardinals will obviously need to find a quick replacement. Alex Reyes is pinned to make a comeback, but with the 2018 season being his first after going in for Tommy John surgery and him being a young pitcher in general, the Cardinals will probably decide to limit his innings just a bit.
